A deadly shooting occurred at the Quality Inn & Suites on Frusta Dr. in Obetz early Thursday morning, March 6, 2025, around midnight. The victim, 34-year-old Jacob Singletary, was pronounced dead at 12:39 a.m. The circumstances leading to the shooting are unclear, but police have apprehended one suspect, who has been charged with reckless homicide. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is assisting Obetz police in the ongoing investigation.
