A tragic two-car collision in North Chicago on Wednesday afternoon claimed the life of 86-year-old Patricia Lord from Zion.
Authorities responded to the crash at the intersection of Green Bay Road and Saratoga Street around 2:40 p.m. Emergency personnel discovered both drivers injured upon arrival. Lord sustained critical injuries and was transported to a hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
An autopsy determined that her cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head, neck, and chest due to the crash.
The North Chicago Police Department and the Major Crash Assistance Team (MCAT) are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
