David Linder, Charles Eppard, and Jeremy Leif die in fatal Alaska avalanche
Fatal Alaska avalanche deaths of David Linder, Charles Eppard, and Jeremy Leif – Obituary
David Linder, 39, of Florida, Charles Eppard, 39, of Montana, and Jeremy Leif, 38, of Minnesota, lost their lives in a devastating avalanche while heli-skiing in Alaska’s Chugach National Forest on March 4, 2025.
The avalanche, which measured nearly 3,000 vertical feet and half a mile in length, buried the skiers under 40 to 100 feet of debris. Despite their attempts to deploy avalanche airbags, they were unable to escape. Rescue teams from Chugach Powder Guides were unable to recover their bodies due to the depth of the slide.
Linder was the owner of Sub Arctic Media, a Minnesota-based company managing over 20 talk and radio shows. Eppard, from Big Fork, Montana, leaves behind his wife Brittany and daughter Belen. Leif was the CEO of Leif Consulting Group, a company he founded in 2023.
Their families, friends, and the skiing community mourn their loss during this difficult time.
