Fatal Lake Charles hit-and-run death of James Etta Bell – Obituary
James Etta Bell, 67, of Lake Charles, was killed in a hit-and-run crash at the intersection of Nelson Road and Imperial Boulevard on Monday evening.
Authorities say a driver struck Bell and fled the scene without stopping to assist or identify themselves. When officers arrived, they found Bell lying in the roadway, where she was pronounced dead.
Following an investigation, officers identified a suspect vehicle, which was located Friday at a residence on Chris Lane. The driver, 44-year-old Brandice L. Watson of Lake Charles, was arrested and charged with hit-and-run driving resulting in death or serious bodily injury.
