Reese Asian’ee Mattis, 23, has passed away from injuries sustained in a shooting that took place in the parking lot of St. Rocco’s Church in Cleveland’s Clark Fulton neighborhood last month.
The incident occurred on February 25 at approximately 4:00 p.m. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered two individuals with gunshot wounds—Mattis and a 25-year-old man.
Authorities confirmed that the man succumbed to his injuries on the same day, while Mattis fought for her life before being officially pronounced deceased on March 5, according to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner.
At the time of the shooting, classes at St. Rocco’s School had already concluded for the day.
Police have not yet released further details regarding potential suspects or motives in the case.
