Fatal Laurel motel death of Roy Herrin – Obituary
Authorities have identified Roy Herrin as the man found dead in a motel room in Laurel on Thursday. The case has been labeled as suspicious by law enforcement.
Jones County Coroner Burl Hal confirmed Herrin’s identity after his body was discovered at the Executive Inn & Suites on Sawmill Road around noon. Officers from the Laurel Police Department responded to the scene and found his body inside one of the rooms.
Herrin’s remains have been sent to the state Crime Lab for an autopsy as investigators continue to look into the circumstances surrounding his death. The case remains under active investigation.
