Fatal Upper Saucon Township crash death of Timothy Atanda – Obituary
Timothy Atanda, 48, lost his life Wednesday afternoon in a crash on Interstate 78 in Upper Saucon Township.
According to the county coroner’s office, Atanda was driving a tractor-trailer when it veered off the road and overturned. The accident occurred around 2 p.m. in the eastbound lanes near mile marker 60.
Emergency responders transported Atanda to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, where he succumbed to his injuries at approximately 2:45 p.m.
Coroner Daniel A. Buglio determined that Atanda died from blunt force injuries sustained in the crash, ruling the death accidental.
State police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
