A tragic shooting occurred on March 2, 2025, in the Conway area, resulting in the death of 18-year-old Davorius Mack, Jr. The shooting took place on Lucas Bay Road, where authorities say 17-year-old Kaishen Willis attempted to rob Mack before fatally shooting him.
Willis was detained at the scene by the Horry County Police Department and later charged with murder, armed robbery, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Mack was transported to the hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.
As of Monday, Willis is being held at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center without bond, and witnesses have corroborated the events leading to the fatal incident.
