Fatal Statesboro shooting death of Mikeal Hamilton – Obituary

Authorities in Statesboro have arrested three suspects in connection with a deadly shooting that claimed the life of 24-year-old Mikeal Hamilton of Norcross. The incident took place early Friday morning, February 27, 2015, at Campus Crossings on Lanier Drive.

 

Around 12:30 a.m., Statesboro Police officers responded to reports of gunfire at the apartment complex and discovered two men suffering from gunshot wounds. Hamilton was pronounced dead at the scene, while the second victim, 24-year-old Ian Lamar Rumph, was transported to East Georgia Regional Medical Center for treatment.

 

Following the investigation, police arrested 21-year-old Steven Williams of Augusta, charging him with murder and aggravated assault. Additionally, Joseph Miles, 18, and Malik Rashad Freeman, 19, both residents of Lanier Drive, were charged with misdemeanor obstruction and making false statements, a felony.
