Authorities have identified the hiker who was found unresponsive on the Nipmuc Trail in Burrillville, Rhode Island, on March 7.
Police confirmed that 62-year-old Edward Clish, a resident of Uxbridge, Massachusetts, was discovered beneath a fallen tree branch. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but Clish was pronounced dead.
The incident occurred on a day marked by high winds, which caused widespread power outages affecting 32,000 Rhode Island Energy customers.
Burrillville Police have launched an investigation into Clish’s death to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
