A house fire on Wolf Ridge Road claimed the life of 72-year-old Herman James Watson on Saturday night, according to Mobile Fire-Rescue officials.
Firefighters arrived at the scene and pulled Watson from the burning home. He was suffering from life-threatening injuries and was rushed to the hospital, where he later died.
Authorities noted that Watson had mobility challenges and did not have access to a phone. Additionally, the home was not equipped with smoke alarms.
