Fatal Bloomington car crash death of Scott W. Smith – Obituary
Scott W. Smith, 49, of Bloomington, lost his life following a two-car collision on Saturday morning. According to McLean County Coroner Kathleen Yoder, Smith was fatally injured when his sedan collided with another at the intersection of West Market Street and Wylie Drive.
Bloomington police responded to the crash at 8:02 a.m. on March 8 after receiving reports of the accident near Aldi. Emergency responders arrived and immediately began treating Smith before transporting him to Carle BroMenn Medical Center. Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at 8:46 a.m.
The driver of the second vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital, though no further updates on their condition have been provided. The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
