Fatal Methuen pedestrian accident death of Erika Newvill – Obituary
Erika Newvill, 23, of Haverhill, was fatally struck by a vehicle in Methuen, Massachusetts, on Tuesday evening.
Police responded to the scene at 301 Merrimack Street at 7:11 p.m. after receiving a report of a pedestrian hit by a car. When officers arrived, they found Newvill with severe injuries. She was transported to Lowell General Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Officials stated that the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement. Investigators are currently examining whether poor lighting in the area may have played a role in the accident.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
