Authorities have confirmed that Joshua Wall, a 43-year-old resident of Elkhorn, lost his life in a vehicle collision in rural Madison County. The accident also left Ericka McCarthy, 33, of Tilden, with severe injuries. She was transported to the hospital, though her current condition remains undisclosed.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office reported that the crash occurred around 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, about two miles east of Meadow Grove on Highway 275. Investigators determined that an SUV traveling west veered across the center line. The driver of an approaching pickup truck tried to evade the SUV but was unable to prevent a head-on crash.
Authorities continue to examine the details surrounding the incident.
