Authorities have confirmed that 25-year-old Uriel Morales from Salinas lost his life in a three-vehicle collision near Soledad on Sunday evening.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the crash took place around 7:44 p.m. on southbound Highway 101, just north of Front Street. Three vehicles were involved in the incident, though the circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
Officials stated that two to three individuals sustained injuries as a result of the accident. While no arrests have been made for driving under the influence, authorities did find alcohol at the crash site.
Law enforcement continues to investigate the events leading up to the collision.
