Fatal South Hill high-speed crash death of Donald Rasmussen – Obituary

Donald Rasmussen, a 30-year-old Spanaway resident, lost his life in a high-speed collision near South Hill on March 4.

 

According to the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office, Rasmussen suffered multiple blunt-force injuries in the crash, which occurred around the 17100 block of 122nd Avenue East. Authorities have classified his death as an accident.

 

Rasmussen was driving a gold sedan at a high speed when he attempted to pass a school bus and collided with a white SUV. The crash was reported at 7:22 a.m., prompting a response from the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.

 

Rasmussen was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV, a woman, was transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, suffering several broken bones.

 

Officials confirmed that the school bus involved was not struck, and no children on board were harmed.
