A tragic accident in Louisburg, Kansas, claimed the life of Anthony Juarez after a pickup truck veered off the road and crashed into a local business.
Juarez, a dedicated firefighter in Drexel for nine years, was inside the Safari Hair Salon with his wife when the vehicle struck the building on Tuesday afternoon.
Juarez was rushed to Overland Park Regional Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries at approximately 9 p.m., surrounded by his family. His wife, who was also injured in the crash, was treated and later released from the hospital.
Authorities reported that the driver of the pickup suffered minor injuries and has since been released after receiving medical care. While alcohol is not believed to be a factor, police are continuing their investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
