Fatal Birmingham shooting death of Dorian Rodriquis Jackson – Obituary

Authorities have identified 20-year-old Dorian Rodriquis Jackson as the victim of a deadly shooting in Birmingham on Friday night that also left a woman and a child injured.

 

Officers responded to the 200 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard around 9:35 p.m. Upon arrival, they were directed to a backyard in the 300 block of Iota Avenue, where Jackson was found with a gunshot wound. He was rushed to UAB Hospital but succumbed to his injuries on Saturday morning.

 

Meanwhile, a woman and a 12-year-old child, who also suffered gunshot wounds, arrived at Baptist Health Princeton Hospital in a private vehicle. The child sustained life-threatening injuries.

 

Investigators believe the three victims had traveled to the area to meet someone when they were shot, possibly while still inside their vehicle. No suspects have been arrested as police continue their investigation. Jackson’s death marks Birmingham’s 19th homicide of 2025.
