On March 14, 2025, Dr. Mark Bowman and his wife, Robin Bowman, tragically lost their lives in a plane crash in Pitt County, North Carolina. The crash occurred in the area of N. Memorial Dr. and Belvoir Rd., shortly after the Beechcraft Bonanza aircraft departed from the Pitt Greenville Airport at approximately 7:45 a.m. Officials from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol confirmed the identities of the victims, who were found deceased at the scene.
The FAA has stated that the cause of the crash remains under investigation, with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) also involved in the inquiry. The plane was reported to have gone down near Consolidated Pipe on N. Greene St. Authorities are continuing to work to determine the circumstances surrounding the deadly incident.
