Fatal Hanover County crash death of James D. Benincasa – Obituary
On Sunday morning, March 23, at approximately 9:08 a.m., Virginia State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on I-95 North, just north of Lewistown Road in Hanover County. They discovered a 2020 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter that had veered off the road, struck multiple trees, and caught fire.
The driver, 53-year-old Tiffany Jerome Benincasa from Greenwich, Connecticut, was found outside of the vehicle with minor injuries and was treated on the scene by Hanover County Fire-EMS. However, her husband, 60-year-old James D. Benincasa, was discovered dead inside the vehicle. Emergency personnel pronounced him deceased at the scene.
Virginia State Police are continuing their investigation into the cause of the crash.
