An apparent double murder-suicide took place in Pompano Beach, Florida, on March 19, resulting in the deaths of 80-year-old James Sheridan, his 72-year-old wife Colleen, and their 31-year-old son Connor. Authorities found the three individuals dead in their home after a welfare check was requested by neighbors who had noticed vehicles parked outside for several days.

Broward County Sheriff’s deputies arrived to discover James Sheridan with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, while Colleen and Connor had both been shot to death. The three victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

James, Colleen, and Connor Sheridan had relocated to Florida from New York in the 1990s and were known to work at a nearby thrift store. The tragedy has left neighbors and friends in shock, with many describing the family as quiet and kind.

The investigation into the deaths is ongoing, with the Broward Sheriff’s Office Homicide and Crime Scene Units continuing to gather details. The Sheridan family’s funeral arrangements are being handled by St. Coleman Catholic Church in Pompano Beach.
