Fatal Cherokee County car crash death of Jeffrey Ray Mullinax – Obituary
A fatal car crash occurred early Sunday morning in Cherokee County, claiming the life of 42-year-old Jeffrey Ray Mullinax from Blacksburg. According to the Cherokee County coroner, Mullinax was driving a 2020 Kia SUV north on Interstate 85 when the vehicle veered off the road near the 92-mile marker in Gaffney. The SUV overturned multiple times before coming to rest on its top in front of 109 Windslow Avenue.
Mullinax, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was trapped inside the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the incident, and an autopsy will be conducted by the coroner’s office.
