Fatal Brunswick County crash death of Jukwanta Demond Nicholson – Obituary
Jukwanta Demond Nicholson, 21, lost his life in a tragic single-vehicle accident early Sunday morning in Brunswick County.
Authorities say the crash occurred around 4:03 a.m. on Old Bridge Road, east of Liberty Road. When troopers arrived, they found a heavily damaged 2008 Grand Marquis in the middle of the road, with Nicholson pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators determined that Nicholson had been traveling west on Old Stage Road when he veered off the roadway, colliding with multiple large trees on the passenger side. Reports indicate he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Virginia State Police have identified speed and alcohol as contributing factors in the incident.
