Fatal East Garfield Park death of 16-year-old Kaylah Love – Obituary
On Monday, March 17, 2025, 16-year-old Kaylah Love was found dead at Horan Park in East Garfield Park, Chicago, after being severely beaten.
Authorities have confirmed her death as a homicide. A vigil was held by family and community members on Sunday to honor the young girl who had dreams of a culinary career.
Her father, Robert Love, expressed a heart-wrenching plea for justice, while relatives questioned the actions of the Chicago Police Department after they reportedly did not exit their vehicle when called to the scene.
Chicago Police are conducting an internal investigation into the officers’ response. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the assault.
