Authorities have identified human remains found in October 2023 in McCreary County, Kentucky, as belonging to William “Will” Cross, a Scott County man who went missing in 2018.
Cross was last seen on May 18, 2018, when he was dropped off in Whitley, Kentucky. That night, he contacted a family member and mentioned he was walking in the woods. He was never heard from again.
Five years later, skeletal remains were discovered in the Revelo/Stearns area, leading to an extensive investigation. With the help of forensic experts and search teams, law enforcement confirmed the remains belonged to Cross.
The Scott County Sheriff’s Office expressed gratitude to those involved in the search and extended condolences to his family. They have requested privacy during this difficult time.
