Fatal Kensington shooting death of Dyheem Sharif – Obituary
Philadelphia police have identified the man who was shot and killed late Monday night in Kensington as 26-year-old Dyheem Sharif.
Officers responded to reports of a person with a gun on the 1800 block of East Somerset Street at approximately 11:17 p.m. Upon arrival, they found Sharif suffering from three gunshot wounds to his back and two to his chest. Police transported him to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:35 p.m.
Authorities recovered three 9mm shell casings at the scene. A witness reported hearing the gunfire, and investigators are reviewing surveillance footage for further leads.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and the weapon used in the shooting has not been found. The Philadelphia Police Department’s Homicide Detectives continue to investigate the incident.
