Fatal Libertyville pedestrian crash death of Xiufang Wu – Obituary
Xiufang Wu, 70, of Libertyville, tragically lost her life after being struck by a vehicle on Sunday, March 23, 2025, around 8:25 p.m. on Route 176 near Fourth Avenue.
According to the Lake County Coroner’s Office, Wu was hit by a Honda Pilot traveling west. Despite lifesaving efforts at the scene, Wu succumbed to blunt force injuries at Advocate Condell Medical Center.
The driver of the vehicle remained on-site and was unharmed. Libertyville police, along with the Major Crash Assistance Team of Lake County, are conducting an investigation into the incident.
