Fatal Teesdale car accident death of Caleb Wesley – Obituary

Six-year-old Caleb Wesley has been identified as the child who was struck and killed by a vehicle while walking to school in Teesdale, Victoria.

 

The incident occurred just after 8 a.m. on Thursday on Bannockburn-Shelford Road. Caleb was walking alongside his brother and sister when he was hit. Despite efforts to revive him through CPR, he died at the scene.

 

Authorities report that the driver, an 84-year-old woman, initially stopped and exited her vehicle but then drove away without providing assistance. Police later located her at a residence in Teesdale after obtaining her license plate information.

 

Inspector Craig McEvoy described the tragedy as devastating, stating that Caleb had simply been following his normal routine when the accident occurred. His family has been left heartbroken.

 

Investigators from the Major Collision Investigation Unit are examining the circumstances of the crash. Authorities urge anyone with dashcam footage or eyewitness accounts to contact Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000 or submit an anonymous report online.
