Fatal Colonie, New York house fire death of Carroll L. Debrocky and James M. Debrocky – Obituary
A tragic house fire early Wednesday morning in Colonie, New York, claimed the lives of Carroll L. Debrocky, 76, and her son, James M. Debrocky, 56. The fire broke out around 12:30 a.m. at their home on Tanglewood Road near Cook Park.
Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the house. Despite efforts to rescue the victims, both were pronounced dead at the scene after being treated by first responders. A small section of Tanglewood Road remained closed for investigation purposes.
Neighbors alerted the fire department that two people were inside the house, and crews were able to get James Debrocky out through a rear window. The two were the only occupants of the house at the time of the fire.
The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
