Authorities in West Jordan are seeking assistance from the public to identify a suspect involved in a hit-and-run accident that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.
The collision took place Tuesday night around 8:30 p.m. near 8660 S. Redwood Road. According to witness reports, a dark-colored SUV struck the motorcycle and fled the scene, heading west on Gardner Lane before being last spotted traveling north on 3200 West near Haun Drive (approximately 8600 South).
The motorcyclist, identified as 23-year-old Garrett Randall Pace, was transported to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries. West Jordan Police expressed their sympathies to Pace’s family.
Investigators have since located the suspect vehicle, a blue GMC Yukon. However, the driver remains unidentified and is still at large. Authorities are currently analyzing the vehicle to determine who was behind the wheel at the time of the crash.

Data from Utah Highway Safety indicates that this is the first reported crash at this location in 2025. Comparatively, there were three crashes at the same site by this time last year. In 2024, the area saw a total of seven accidents, one of which was fatal. In 2023, there were eight crashes, while 2022 recorded five incidents, none of which resulted in fatalities.
