Fatal Fort Worth, TX car crash death of Melanie Robinson and Jonas Allen – Obituary
Authorities have identified the mother and child who lost their lives after their vehicle crashed into the Trinity River in Fort Worth on Saturday evening. Melanie Robinson, 38, was the driver of the car, and her 22-month-old son, Jonas Allen, was also inside when the accident occurred.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene near the Trinity River Bridge at Beach Street and East Freeway just before 6 p.m. While rescue teams were able to retrieve Robinson and transport her to the ICU, Jonas was not immediately found.
Search efforts for the child were suspended Saturday night and resumed the following morning. His body was recovered from the river just before noon on Sunday. Robinson remained in critical condition until she succumbed to her injuries on Tuesday.
Authorities have not yet determined what led to the crash, and the investigation is ongoing.
