Fatal Gurnee car crash death of Jane Kennedy – Obituary

Authorities have identified Jane Kennedy, a 74-year-old resident of Waukegan, as the victim of a deadly two-vehicle crash in Gurnee on March 28.

 

The collision took place around 2:20 p.m. near the intersection of Grand Avenue and 1st Street. According to reports from Gurnee police, Kennedy was driving a Subaru Forester eastbound on Grand Avenue when she attempted to make a left turn onto 1st Street. As she turned, her vehicle crossed into the path of a BMW 340i that was traveling westbound on Route 132, resulting in a crash.

 

Emergency responders transported Kennedy to Advocate Condell Medical Center, where she was placed in the intensive care unit. Despite medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead on the evening of March 29.

 

An autopsy conducted by the Lake County Coroner’s Office confirmed that Kennedy’s death was caused by complications from blunt force injuries sustained in the accident.

 

The Gurnee Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
