Authorities have confirmed that 32-year-old Carly Holubik from Richmond Hill lost her life in a tragic collision involving multiple vehicles Thursday morning in Effingham County.
The crash took place around 7:30 a.m. near the intersection of Highway 80 and Highway 17 in the Bloomingdale area, according to the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials reported that five vehicles were involved, including four commercial trucks and a sedan. The accident occurred when a concrete truck, carrying a full load, failed to stop and slammed into the back of the sedan. The impact triggered a domino effect with the other vehicles, which were stopped at a red light at the time.
Holubik, who was in the sedan, died at the scene.
