James Walter McGuire, 48, tragically lost his life on March 28 following a shooting in the 1300 block of Riley Place. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to the scene around 3 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting.

McGuire was found dead at the scene, while another victim was critically injured and taken to the hospital.

Authorities later identified the shooter as 50-year-old Michael Hendricks. According to witnesses, the shooting stemmed from a $40 debt McGuire allegedly owed Hendricks.
