Fatal St. Louis hit-and-run crash death of Jason Lewis – Obituary

Jason Lewis, a 27-year-old man from St. Peters, Missouri, lost his life in a deadly hit-and-run crash while biking in St. Louis earlier this week, according to local authorities.

The incident occurred around 8 p.m. on Tuesday near the intersection of Gravois and Bamberger avenues in the Tower Grove South area. Police say Lewis was biking west on Gravois in the designated bike lane before turning south onto Bamberger. As he crossed the eastbound lanes of Gravois, he was hit by a silver SUV.

The SUV, described as a silver Ford Edge with no license plates but a red dealer placard on the rear and significant damage to the front, fled the scene after the crash. Investigators are working to locate the driver responsible.

Following the initial impact, Lewis was thrown into the westbound lanes of Gravois, where he was hit by three more vehicles. Two of those drivers stayed at the scene and are cooperating with police.

Anyone with information that could help identify the suspect vehicle or its driver is urged to contact the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department or CrimeStoppers.
