John David Ochoa, 67, tragically lost his life in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 35 on Sunday afternoon. The accident occurred around 4:25 p.m. near Exit 12B in the northbound lanes, when a small crossover utility vehicle was struck on the passenger side by an 18-wheeler without a trailer.

Emergency responders arrived to find Ochoa unconscious, pulseless, and apneic with facial injuries. He was transported to Doctors Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The crash caused significant traffic disruptions due to a diesel fuel spill, and the northbound lanes remained closed for several hours. The incident is under investigation.
