Fatal Marin County car crash death of Olive Koren – Obituary
Olive Koren was among four teenagers who lost their lives in a devastating vehicle accident on Friday night in the rural area of West Marin, California, according to the California Highway Patrol. The crash also left two other young girls in critical condition.
All six individuals involved were female students between the ages of 14 and 16 attending Archie Williams High School in San Anselmo. The school’s principal, Jacob Gran, confirmed the names of the deceased as Olive Koren, Josalynn Osborn, Sienna Katz, and Ada Kepley. The surviving girls remain hospitalized.
Tamalpais Union High School District Superintendent Tara Taupier described the tragedy as an overwhelming loss for the school and surrounding community, expressing hope that support and compassion would help those affected during this difficult time.
Authorities reported that the incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. along San Geronimo Valley Road, just south of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard. Emergency responders found that a Volkswagen SUV had veered off the road and hit a tree near the edge of the roadway.
Three of the teenagers were declared dead at the site of the accident, while a fourth was pronounced dead at a local hospital following emergency treatment.
Captain Amy Newton of the CHP Marin Area extended heartfelt condolences on behalf of the agency, recognizing the profound grief felt by loved ones, friends, and the community as a whole.
