Fatal Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario crash death of Connor Dunn – Obituary
Connor Dunn, a 15-year-old student and athlete from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, tragically passed away on April 20, 2025, after being struck by a pickup truck while riding an e-bike. The incident occurred around 1 a.m. on Third Line West and Goulais Avenue when Dunn and another 15-year-old were hit by the vehicle. Dunn was pronounced dead at the scene, while his friend sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital.
A roadside memorial was later set up near the crash site, just a short distance from Dunn’s high school, Korah Collegiate & Vocational School. The community has shown overwhelming support for the Dunn family, with a tribute to Connor aired during the second intermission of the Montreal Canadiens’ NHL playoff game on April 22, 2025. His memory was honored by Sportsnet broadcaster David Amber, who expressed condolences to the family.
The driver of the pickup truck, an 18-year-old novice driver, was arrested at the scene and faces multiple charges, including impaired driving causing death and bodily harm, and dangerous driving. The accused is currently in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
