Fatal Long Beach, California hit-and-run death of Jeffrey Krajeski – Obituary

A 45-year-old man, Jeffrey Krajeski, tragically lost his life in a hit-and-run incident in Long Beach on the night of April 22, 2025. According to the Long Beach Police Department, Krajeski was struck at approximately 11 p.m. while walking in the area of Seventh Street and Channel Drive.

Initial reports indicate that a 2024 Hyundai IONIQ 5 was traveling eastbound on Seventh Street when it hit Krajeski. The driver immediately stopped and pulled over to assist the victim. However, while the driver was helping, a black truck drove over the pedestrian and failed to stop, continuing to flee the scene.

Paramedics from the Long Beach Fire Department arrived shortly after and declared Krajeski dead at the scene. Investigators are still trying to determine if speed, distracted driving, or impairment were factors in the crash. It remains unclear whether Krajeski was killed by the first vehicle or the second that struck him while fleeing.

The police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward, especially those who may have witnessed the black truck involved. Detective Efrain Pineda can be contacted at 562-570-7355 for those with leads. Those wishing to remain anonymous can reach out to Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.
