Fatal Sacramento County bicycle crash death of Vaughn Marcus Cotton – Obituary
Vaughn Marcus Cotton, a 63-year-old man, has been identified as the victim who died following a collision with a vehicle in North Highlands, Sacramento County. The incident occurred Monday night around 9 p.m. on westbound Madison Avenue, just east of Jackson Street.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Cotton was critically injured in the crash and was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead just before 9:30 p.m.
Authorities reported that the driver of a Mazda involved in the crash remained at the scene, provided a statement to law enforcement, and is cooperating with the investigation. At this time, officials say there is no indication that alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the collision are still ongoing.
