Fatal Statesboro shooting death of Eric Alexander Reese – Obituary
Eric Alexander Reese, 46, was shot and killed Friday night at the Park Place Apartments in Statesboro, according to local authorities.
Statesboro police reported that they responded around 8:30 p.m. to an incident involving firearms at the apartment complex on Lanier Drive. Upon arriving, officers found Reese deceased at the scene.
Following the shooting, multiple individuals, including a juvenile, were detained after fleeing across Veterans Memorial Parkway into a nearby field. Five people were taken into custody in connection with the incident.
Lester Parrish, a 17-year-old resident of University Pointe Apartments, was arrested Saturday morning at the Avenue at Southern on Georgia Avenue. He faces charges of murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Parrish is currently being held without bond at the Bulloch County Jail.
Bulloch County Coroner Jake Futch confirmed that Reese suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the chest and that he was called to East Georgia Regional Medical Center regarding the incident.
Law enforcement agencies, including the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office, Georgia Southern University Police, and Georgia State Patrol, assisted in the response and investigation.
