Fatal Boulder crash death of Evelyn Kear – Obituary

BOULDER, CO — Evelyn Kear, a 17-year-old student from Fairview High School, tragically lost her life on Monday, April 21, after a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Cherryvale and South Boulder roads. The crash occurred around 4:10 p.m. when Kear, driving a Jeep, disregarded a red light and entered the intersection, colliding with an F-150 that was turning left.

 

The driver of the F-150, a 45-year-old man from Boulder, attempted to stop but was unable to avoid the collision. The impact caused Kear’s vehicle to overturn and strike a utility pole. She was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the F-150 suffered minor injuries but did not require hospitalization.

 

The Fairview High School community was informed of Kear’s passing, and support services were made available to students and staff. The crash is still under investigation by the Colorado State Patrol.
