Marcus Anthony Taylor dies in fatal Ellsworth, Iowa car crash

Fatal Ellsworth, Iowa car crash death of Marcus Anthony Taylor – Obituary

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office has reported that a body found on a property near the site of a crash along Interstate 35 in Ellsworth matches the description of Marcus Anthony Taylor. Officials stated that Taylor appeared to have reached a closed structure in an attempt to find shelter following the accident. There are no indications of foul play, and an autopsy has been scheduled to confirm the cause of death.

Taylor, aged 31, had been traveling from Fort Worth, Texas, to Wisconsin to visit his ailing grandmother when he went missing. Authorities said Taylor’s vehicle, a blue Hyundai Santa Fe bearing South Dakota plates, crashed on April 8, 2025, around 10:50 p.m. between mile markers 133 and 128 on I-35 near Ellsworth. Despite an immediate and extensive search using drones, thermal imaging, K9 units, and emergency teams, Taylor was not located that night.

At the time of the crash, Taylor had not yet been reported as a missing person. Law enforcement had urged the public to stay away from the search areas while investigations were ongoing. Anyone with additional information was encouraged to contact the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.
