Authorities have identified 34-year-old Nathaniel John Jones-Bey as the driver who tragically died in a rollover crash in Huntersville on April 22.
The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. on Beatties Ford Road near Sample Road when Jones-Bey lost control of his 2015 Nissan Armada after a previous collision about a mile south. His vehicle veered off the road, struck a large boulder, and overturned. The impact dislodged the boulder from a stone wall.
Officers arrived to find Jones-Bey unresponsive, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators believe speed played a role in the crash, and it was confirmed that Jones-Bey was wearing a seatbelt at the time.
