Fatal Highway 58 crash results in the death of Abram Raymond Perez – Obituary

On the morning of Saturday, April 26, 2025, a tragic crash on Highway 58 near Bena Road claimed the life of 28-year-old Abram Raymond Perez.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Perez was a passenger in a 2002 Mazda pickup truck that collided with a 2016 Freightliner semi-truck. The Mazda was traveling at high speeds and failed to slow down, crashing into the rear of the truck.

While the driver of the Mazda sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Kern Medical Hospital, Perez was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities are investigating whether alcohol and/or drugs played a role in the crash. Perez’s family has set up a GoFundMe page to help with funeral expenses, remembering him as “Handsome Abram,” and expressing their deep grief.
