Alexandra Fröhlich found dead on houseboat in Hamburg

Fatal Hamburg death of Alexandra Fröhlich – Obituary

58-year-old best-selling German author Alexandra Fröhlich was discovered dead on her houseboat in Hamburg on April 29, 2025. Fröhlich’s body was found by one of her sons, who had gone to check on her after she failed to respond. Police have determined that she was the victim of a violent crime, with the possibility of being shot. The murder occurred sometime between midnight and 5:30 a.m.

Investigators are still seeking the individual responsible for her death, though no specific suspects have been named. Police divers have conducted a search of the Elbe River for possible evidence, including the murder weapon, but no discoveries have been made yet. Fröhlich was known for her works, such as “My Russian Mother-in-Law and Other Catastrophes” and “People Always Die,” which were both bestsellers. Authorities have asked the public to come forward with any relevant information regarding the crime.
