Dax Van Ekelenburg, 21, tragically passed away from injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash on Thursday, April 24, in Murfreesboro.

The crash occurred around 7 p.m. at the intersection of South Church Street and South Rutherford Boulevard, involving a Ford Taurus and Van Ekelenburg’s motorcycle.

Police reports indicate that the driver of the Ford Taurus failed to yield while making a left turn, colliding with the motorcyclist, who was subsequently treated by emergency responders and transported to the hospital, where he later died.

The driver of the Taurus was unharmed. Investigators are working to determine whether speed played a role in the crash. This incident marks the second motorcycle fatality in Murfreesboro this month.
