Fatal Encinitas crosswalk accident death of Emery – Obituary
A 12-year-old girl, identified only as “Emery,” tragically passed away after being struck by a vehicle while crossing the street in Encinitas on Friday evening.
Around 6:45 p.m. on April 27, Emery was walking in a crosswalk at the intersection of Encinitas Boulevard and Village Square Drive when two vehicles collided, and one of them hit her. The local community has been deeply affected by her loss, with parents and students at Park Dale Lane Elementary School showing support by wearing yellow in her memory, as yellow was her favorite color. A memorial featuring flowers, pictures, and stuffed animals has been growing at the site.
The Park Dale Lane community, where Emery was a sixth-grade student, expressed their sadness, with the school offering support to students and staff. The Encinitas Union School District has confirmed their commitment to providing counseling services during this difficult time.
