Gabrielle Williams dies in fatal Austin shooting

Fatal Austin shooting death of Gabrielle Williams – Obituary

Gabrielle Williams, a 20-year-old woman, was shot and killed late Friday night near an encampment located off East Rundberg Lane in Austin, close to Interstate 35.

 

According to the Austin Police Department, around 11:30 p.m., multiple 911 calls reported gunfire in a wooded area behind 506 E. Rundberg Lane, the site of the Affordable Car Wash. When officers arrived, they found Williams lying unresponsive on the sidewalk in front of the business with visible gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 12:30 a.m.

 

Investigators determined that Williams had been near her tent with her boyfriend when an unidentified suspect approached and fired multiple shots, striking her. After the shooting, the suspect fled the area. Williams’ boyfriend carried her from the encampment to the sidewalk, attempting to seek help.

 

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the case to contact APD at 512-974-TIPS or submit a tip to Capital Area Crime Stoppers either online or by calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 is available for information leading to an arrest.

 

Williams’ death marks Austin’s 20th homicide for the year.
