Fatal Sydney wet-weather crash death of Joey Tofan and Khalil Hamoud – Obituary

Joey Tofan, 23, and Khalil Hamoud, 22, tragically lost their lives in a car crash on King Georges Road at Wiley Park in southwest Sydney on the night of Monday, April 28.

The two were passengers in a BMW sedan driven by Yousef Hamoud, 20, when the vehicle collided with a truck around 8:45 p.m. The force of the crash caused severe damage to both vehicles, and Tofan and Hamoud were pronounced dead at the scene.

Yousef, the driver, was critically injured and placed into an induced coma after receiving a blood transfusion on-site. He was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

The driver of the truck, a 24-year-old man, was unharmed but taken to the hospital for mandatory testing. Police are investigating the role of speed and wet road conditions in the crash.
